THE POSITION

We are expanding and are looking for a Technical Writer/Content Manager (m/f/d) to join our team full time in our Munich office, taking ownership of product documentation.

 

MISSION STATEMENT

Your mission is to create awesome product documentation.

We give you freedom to lead this domain, to shape our documentation structure, improve processes and bring in fresh ideas to produce excellent results. This will give you extensive knowledge of the payments ecosystem, optile core payment products & systems and the wide range of technical features we offer, and you will know how they work best for our customers. We make sure you feel at home with our backend and frontend APIs or the modern web portal applications we market and dig deep into very complex use-cases. You are not alone, you will work very closely with product managers and development teams to assure we supply simply awesome product documentation to various target customer groups.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Restructure optile’s existing documentation to fit customer needs
  • Lead & manage the migration to our new documentation platform-of-choice and shape this ecosystem
  • Ensure consistency and standards of our product documentation across various languages in various markets
  • Constantly benchmark and improve existing documentation & platform against market standards
  • Create automated & seamless workflows for updating the product documentation as part of a structured & well orchestrated development process
  • Besides the product organization, work closely with our folks in marketing, sales engineering, and project management

Requirements

REQUIRED PORTFOLIO

  • Along with your CV, please provide evidence of technical documents that you have authored or were a main contributor to, that is representative of your skills (git-based, blog-posts, or any other URL to your work etc.)

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Very experienced as a Technical Writer with a track record of writing complex product documentation
  • Solid knowledge of modern web technologies incl. things like JSON and REST APIs
  • A passion for writing and creating high-quality documentation for engineers while adapting to changing priorities
  • Flawless English language skills (verbal and written)
  • Very strong communication skills 
  • Capacity to understand complex subjects and transfer them to written form
  • A hands-on, get-things-done & team-player attitude
  • Attention to detail and appetite to align various inputs & people

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Computer Science or related Engineering degree
  • Experience in FINTECH, INSURTECH or PAYMENTS industry
  • Software design and/or hands-on development experience
  • You have worked with state-of-the-art documentation platforms (such as GitBook, ReadTheDocs, ReDoc, etc.)
