Job description


We are expanding and are looking for a Technical Product Owner (Backend) (m/f/d), as soon as possible for a full-time position to energetically support the product management team in our Munich office.


Your mission is to lead optile’s back-end development. This requires deep knowledge of our core payment system and principles of system integrations. You will manage prioritizations and expectations of stakeholders regarding the delivery of multiple projects while acting in full transparency with both the stakeholders and your team and ensuring high quality and stability of new features on our live system.



  • be a "servant-leader" for a team of developers in an agile manner
  • plan sprints, track progress and estimated delivery of multiple simultaneous projects
  • understand optile’s core payment processing system end-to-end
  • analyze new requirements with customers and internal stakeholders
  • analyze external software documentation and devise integration plans accordingly
  • facilitate meetings between stakeholders and manage prioritization
  • analyze, adjust, or draft internal APIs, simple algorithms and data structures
  • liaise with software architects to write technical specifications
  • document your products for our customers’ users and developers
  • proactively drive your projects



  • at least 3 years of experience as a technical product owner, developer, or a similar role
  • deep knowledge of web technologies such as JSON and REST APIs
  • strong analytical skills
  • strong communication skills to align stakeholders and team members
  • proven managerial skills, including remote team members
  • fluent English language skills
  • a hands-on startup- and team player attitude


  • experience in system integration projects
  • computer science or related degree
  • first-hand experience in backend coding
  • experience in the online payments industry
  • hands-on experience with programming for webservice APIs
  • German language skills
